Success Isn’t Improvised: Lessons from Mary Pinzón and Be-Well Esthetic

In this episode of the Hispanic Perspectives podcast, hosted by the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce, host Carolina Melo interviews Mary Pinzón, CEO of Be-Well Esthetic. Mari shares her journey from the conception of her aesthetic clinic to surpassing one million dollars in revenue, highlighting that financial success is the result of a solid structure and a clear purpose.

1. The Beginning: A Project with Purpose and Innovation

Mary explains that Be-Well Esthetic wasn’t just born as a business, but as a space designed to offer a comprehensive and unique experience in Miami.

  • Investment and Vision: Although the initial projected capital was $300,000, the search for the best equipment on the market and a total renovation of the premises tripled the initial figure.
  • Differentiation: The clinic was designed so that patients don’t just receive a service, but live an experience in a peaceful environment, including innovative spaces like a garden-style terrace.

2. The Human Factor: The Team as the Engine of Growth

For Mary, the accelerated success of her clinic—achieving milestones in less than two years that take other companies much longer—is due to her workforce.

  • Service Culture: She focuses on hiring people with a “kind heart” and human quality, something she believes is being lost in a transactional society.
  • Strategic Delegation: By having trusted doctors and specialists, Mary has been able to transition from daily operations to managerial and creative work, allowing her to develop new business lines, such as her own hair and facial care products.

3. Overcoming Obstacles and Fears

The Colombian entrepreneur is honest about the challenges along the way, mentioning that “success is not a straight line.”

  • Lessons from 2025: She describes that year as one of great personal and professional growth after trusting people who did not share her vision. Despite moments of sadness, she used that experience to strengthen her character and leadership.
  • Balance: Mary speaks about the challenge of being a mother to a young girl while building a business empire, emphasizing that fear is always present but must not be an impediment.

4. Advice for Entrepreneurs

Mary closes the interview with key recommendations for those looking to scale their businesses:

  • Business Mindset: It is vital to stop thinking only with the heart and start making conscious decisions for the good of the company and the families that depend on it.
  • Consistency: Reaching a target figure isn’t enough; staying there requires constant innovation (she updates or changes treatments every 2-3 months to stay at the forefront).
  • Action: “If you have the dream, do it.” Capital is important, but organization and purpose are what truly allow dreams to materialize.
